Moving Rocks

Your house might crack if there is an earthquake.     Two rocks were stuck together and then somehow they got splitted up.  Valleys can be made when they are squished down in the middle.

Rocks

Jet is made from rotten trees that have been squished together.  It looks like black glass.

Crystals

Crystals are made from hot water and little bits of rock in the earth.

Rocks

When the lava is in the ground it is called magma.  But when it explodes out of the volcano it is called lava.  If you find a colored rock that is sticking up with a little bit of black on it and if you break it open they will have crystal in it. 

Blowing up rocks

You make an explosion on the top of the ground.  Shockwaves goes down into the ground and it bounces off one of the rocks in the ground and bounces back up to the top.  Then they can tell what the rocks look like underneath.  This is a seismograph.

You Will Live Under the Sea

I read this book.  There are all sorts of ocean animals like fish, more fish submarines and big fish.  One day the boy was looking out his window. Then he was going on a boat.  Then he sailed away and saw some birds and a big rock.  Then it was getting nighttime.  Then they were going down with their submarine into the ocean.  They saw swimmers.  They saw big, big, big whale.  It almost tried to eat them, but then they swam, and swam and swam up to the shore so they wouldn't get eaten by the big, big whale.  Then they tried to go down again.  They saw a turtle.  he was writing about the turtle.  They saw fish and fish.  They were going down, deep, deep down into the ocean.  Then they saw that whale again.  It was tyrying to eat a squid.  But they were fighting and fighting so they don't know who would win.  They caught some fish.  Then she swam down and got a big fish.  That was their dinner.  They saw millions and millions of fish.  They saw two turtles swimming up on the top of the ocean.  His son got up on the big turtle.  His dad swam on a turtle too!  Then they decided to get off their turtles and go find some other stuff.  His son found a lobster.  They got bags and bags of fish!  They went back up to shore.  They are back on the boat.  They saw lots of jelly fish.  Then they went back up and took some of the fish and ate their lunch.  It ends with a sun.
